IF YOU LIKED THAT YOU'LL LIKE THESE - The Mutton Birds "Envy of Angels"gets
a mention in the Q Magazine review of Robbie William's latest album,in
the "Like that, try these" section. We do promise that our videos
are less gory, though. Our own recommendations are below
New Single

To follow up the release of "Pulled Along By
Love" we are releasing "AsCloseAsThis"
(b-sides "Pulled Along By Love" & "The

"If You Liked Those,
You'll Love These"

Promo. Album & Single:
Media copies of "Rain
Steam & Speed" and "Pulled Along By
Love" are available while stocks last. The album
contains an interview with Don McGlashan as well as all
11 tracks from the album. The single and album are being
sold together for the one-off price of £15. These are
definite collectors items and stocks really are limited.
Both come in special re-cycled packaging. The single
audio is the same as the released version.

The Complete BLAM BLAM BLAM:
Before The Mutton Birds there
was The Front Lawn and before The Front Lawn there was
Blam Blam Blam. From 1980 to 1982 seminal Auckland group,
Blam Blam Blam, had a string of top 20 singles with Don
McGlashan as drummer and singer.

Rain, Steam & Speed and
Pulled Along By Love:
Copies of both the album and
single (released versions) are now available from us.

Thrashing Marlin - Garage
Sailors
- A typical New Zealand guitar
gem. The group is made up of various well known New
Zealanders many of whom you may recognise from their Six
Volts days, including our own David Long. Well worth it!
ANGLE OF
ENTRY Sold out - but a
special limited offer of the first pressing is now
available. CD players think it's all one big song -
otherwise it sounds just as good as the one we released.
This'll be the Mutton Birds equivalent of the upside down
Penny Black stamp.
SHIRTS There are some of
the most recent UK/NZ/Aus tour Rain, Steam Speed Shirts.
Please call or email to ask about sizes & colours.
Apart from that, all shirts are sold out due to the big
demand for them.
CD - "Too
Hard Basket" (B-sides and Bastards) This was
produced to placate all those of you who get annoyed at
Mutton Birds gigs by fellow Mutton Bird watchers who call
out for obscure songs that the majority haven't had a
chance of getting hold of. Now you can call out too! A
seriously good investment and well worth it. (Track
Listing is on the "Current Newsletter July
1998" - in Old Pages - or check out the Discography).
MANAGER'S SPECIAL 3
"Rain. Steam & Speeds for the price of two.
CD'S
- The Front Lawn - Prior to forming The Mutton Birds Don
McGlashan was part of a duo with actor/film-maker Harry
Sinclair. Together they produced two albums that you are
able to order from us. CD 1 "Songs From The Front
Lawn" and CD2 "More Songs From The Front
Lawn". These albums chronicle some of Don's earlier
collaborations and are well worth adding to your CD
collection. The feedback from those of you who have
bought these albums has been very positive. So convinced are we that you will enjoy
these CD's that we give you a no questions asked money
back guarantee if you are in any way disappointed.
(Actually these records offer more material for
at-the-gig one-up-manship. See the band blanche when you
shout out for "The How You Doing Dance", or
"Claude Rains"! You may be surprised one day -
they do know how to play some of them.)
REAPER - The band's cover of the
Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear The Reaper"
still keeps cropping up as a much requested item. We have
tracked down some copies of the "She's Been
Talking" single (New Zealand version) - which has,
as a B-side, "Don't Fear The Reaper". Don't
miss out - supplies are limited.
